CAD* E140 - Fundamentals of Solid Modeling (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): The ability to perform basic file management A comprehensive introduction to the principles of computerized 3D solid modeling. Topics include creating parametric 3D objects; combining 3D objects using Boolean operations; extruding, translating, rotating and scaling 3D objects; printing 3D objects; and developing scalable 3D designs using scripting. The course is continually updated to remain current with the state of the art in 3D solid modeling. Substantial hands-on use of modern 3D modeling applications such as OpenSCAD and SolidWorks in a computerized classroom environment is required.
