ARA* E101 - Elementary Arabic I (3 credits)

This course is intended to bring students with no prior experience in the Arabic language to a proficiency level of Novice Mid (as per American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages or ACTFL guidelines) in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing, with a focus on effective spoken communication. Elements of Culture and Civilization will also be studied. To this end, written Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and colloquial spoken forms will receive equal emphasis in coursework.
