With this degree you will be able to transfer to the following majors:

At Eastern Connecticut State University:
  • Bachelor of General Studies with a Concentration in Early Childhood Education - ECTC Level B
At Southern Connecticut State University:
  • Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentration in Early Childhood Pedagogy and Curriculum and Child, Family and Community Studies
At Charter Oak State College: 
  • Bachelor of General Studies with a Concentration in Child Studies - ECTC Track

In order to graduate and be guaranteed admission to a State University or to Charter Oak State College, you must earn an overall 2.0 grade point average.

Here is the recommended course of study for the Early Childhood Teacher Credential Studies Transfer Degree. If you are studying part time, simply follow the order of the courses listed here. Note that not all courses will be available every semester. First Semester:

ENG 101 Composition (3 credits)

ECE 101 Introduction to Early Childhood Education (3 credits) PSY 111 General Psychology (3 credits)

AESX Choose one Aesthetic Dimensions course (3 credits)

ORAX Choose one Oral Communication course (3 credits)

Second Semester:

ECE 210 Observation, Participation and Seminar (must be 3 credits) completed with a C or better before ECE 222)

ECE 215 The Exceptional Learner (3 credits)

PSY 202 Child Psychology and Development (3 credits)

QUAX Choose one Quantitative Reasoning course (3 credits)

WRIX Choose one Written Communication II course (3 credits)

Third Semester:

ECE 222 Methods & Techniques for ECE (must be completed with a C or better before ECE 295) (3 credits)

ECE 231 Early Language and Literacy Development (3 credits)
