SOC* E220 - Racial and Ethnic Diversity (3 credits) Code(s): BHEL, SSCI Prerequisite(s): SOC* E101 or permission of the instructor A study of racial and ethnic groups in the United States. The course will cover immigration, the history and culture of nations from which immigrants came, and theoretical perspectives and data regarding each group’s adaptation to and treatment by the dominant culture. Representative cultures from Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe will be studied. This course may be used for either history or sociology credit. Course Outline: SOC 220
